Ten most influential Nigerians for March 2016

The drama of March 2016 is like no other. Though the drama didn't start early in the month, it got very interesting later in the month. Whereas, some people were busy rocking the red carpets, others were 'sniffing cocaine' in the studio while causing emotional blackmail. Dubai saw some others and thank God for media stunts. I really hope to hear your opinion about the list, at least that's why there's a comment box. You won't believe who hit the number one spot.

Slimshady Unlimited in Awka this Easter

Easter in Awka would be fun with Slimshady unlimited holdingI by 5pm  on 27 March 2016 at Balumba, UNIZIK Temp Site.   

The event would be fun filled as lotta dancing and singing would be happening. You would be surprised to know which artistes are turning up.

Chijioke Anyacho on the magic he does with PENting

Chijioke Anyacho specialises in ball point drawings which he describes as PENting. I found out about him when I saw his PENting of one of Oresegun Olumide's painting in defence of Olumide as people doubted the credibility of the works. A look through Chijioke Anyacho Facebook account showed lots of his works and the comment box only has praises for the works. Mr. Anyacho is 23 years old and a graduate of  Fine and Applied Arts from the University of Benin. In this interview, he expressed his love for PENting, reveals that his works take an average of 80 to 100 hours, and could even take days. 'Women should be seen not heard.' This was one belief that ruled Nigeria back in the days. A belief that made a lot of women give up on dreams. Some women never bothered to dream at all. But, some Nigerian women notwithstanding the challenges, remained undaunted, pursuing their dreams, treading parts not treaded by men let alone other women. These women set themselves apart in their endeavours. These women are nothing but role models to other women, to female children and of course to the male gender.   

In commemoration of the International Women's day which was few days back, I list out ten out of these great Nigerian women. These women have involved themselves in business leadership and management, politics, entertainment and humanitarian services. In no particular order these women are :

Port Harcourt comes alive as BORA hosts Pre-Award VIP Reception

Best of Rivers Awards (BORA) holds Pre-Award VIP Event at the Platinum Lounge of Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt. BORA is aimed at spotlighting the trailblazing talents in Rivers state,there by encouraging hardwork amongst the youths.

In his address, President/CEO of BORA, Mr. Lawson Khel, said “Excellence has a ripple effect; One drop can initiate a cascade of possibility, each concentric circle gaining in size and travelling further. Each year, our exceptional nominees create these ripple effects in others in their fields – making them to develop a sense of self, helping them to understand that work shouldn’t just be done, but done excellently.  At BORA, we believe that an individual that creates impact is one who teaches young people to take initiative, become remarkable artists, and to question the status quo.”   

In another development, a prominent elder statesman, Chief Dele Daniel-Kalio, said “In our society today, so many significant individual and collective activities take place each day. Although it is impossible to outline them all, but organizers of the Best of Rivers Awards have been able to identify many noteworthy moments.” He further expressed how incredibly proud he is with the significant and ongoing involvement of the organizers of BORA in recognizing excellence in Rivers State.   

The event - a first of its kind in BORA history, was an evening of 'money-can’t-buy' experiences, undivided attention was given to celebrating some of the most outstanding individuals and companies in Rivers state. Certificates of Nomination were presented to all the nominees.   

The event featured unforgettable performances from past BORA winner,  comedian K. O Baba and reggae icon Mr. Rawbest. There was also featured performances from Shimar (MTN Project Fame West Africa, Season 4 Contestant), and Dance Knight. Guests also had opportunities to enjoy some refreshments and talk with nominees after the formalities had taken place.

The Pre-Award Event was star studded and the red carpet spoke for itself as most attendees knew better to check their fashion books. In attendance were esteemed entertainment and fashion industry guests, captains of industries and the next generation of leaders.
