Many of us would remember Facebook as a social media network that allows us reconnect to old friends, and meet news friends. Maybe, I could add that the network allows us express our thoughts and get comments and likes for them. But, the share button has stayed with us for too long that we can't even begin to think of Facebook without it. Then, the photo tags, check-ins, feelings, activities, hashtags and so many features that have been added to Facebook over time. One of the most recent and very popular - reactions. We can be wowed by posts; haha posts; feel anger or sad over posts; or even love the post. And then feel thankful for posts (only that's we didn't get to enjoy it for long - Mtcheeew).</div>
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />Many of us have hit top scores, or win awards playing our favourite games via Facebook. It has become an addiction for some even. Some of us buy or sell (or both) on Facebook. We all are speedily getting used to some of these features that are add ons to what Facebook was in 2004 and a couple of years back. We can't even begin to think of Facebook without them.<br /><br />Now, we can wine and dine via Facebook (not literally). How else do I describe being able to order your meal from a near by restaurant while on Facebook. You don't necessarily need to go to the restaurant's Facebook page and you can make payments via Facebook. Thanks to the deal between Facebook and food delivery services Delivery.com and Slice. This feature which is only available to people in the US would most likely be made available to every other part of the world. <br /><br />And Uncle Zuck is quickly coming on us with Facebook venture into video content production. The Facebook produced and would be aired videos would arrive around summer, based on available information. While, we expect Zuck and his team to focus on the video production, or be at rest, they went ahead to acquire right to stream Major League Baseball. 20 Major League Baseball games to be livestreamed on Facebook. I'm sure you know that's not the only sports, right?<br /><br />Facebook is no longer just face book. We are eventually facing everything - sports, games, business, food and videos on Facebook. The question is now, 'what can't we do on Facebook?'. This gets me wondering how the people who aren't on Facebook survive. With Facebook today, we can now raise funds for education expenses; medical bills; medical procedures for pets; public crises relief; personal emergencies; and costs related to deaths of loved ones. We can buy and sell; play games; make payments with zero service charge; and even order food. Facebook is our newest life, it's a revolution and we must be open to change to make good use of it. Considering that Zuck and his team have new plans for us just every day.<br />Victor Ugoo Njokuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03317518373548061148noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6667661390544628635.post-64614030444324799202017-05-26T09:35:00.000+01:002017-07-07T04:01:19.351+01:00Pause!!! Your Uber Driver Is Manipulated? <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF-ep0RSCSYOyVCFcH0aqbInObV5cb9nDzGeJPj6LGljbUJKkpZXp32QmzmodT8AVAgvO5djzA9tLeeSi7DplzO-BFUxqsU8rrlulzaSCKZhGZ08hpMqYm-hF6L_y4EgPCKtnf6K_T_8Pd/s1600/images-4.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="90" data-original-width="135" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF-ep0RSCSYOyVCFcH0aqbInObV5cb9nDzGeJPj6LGljbUJKkpZXp32QmzmodT8AVAgvO5djzA9tLeeSi7DplzO-BFUxqsU8rrlulzaSCKZhGZ08hpMqYm-hF6L_y4EgPCKtnf6K_T_8Pd/s1600/images-4.jpeg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Have you ever imagined that your Uber driver is manipulated? That's not possible, you think? Talk to your next Uber driver, maybe. Just imagine a little manipulation, the type that could go unnoticed. That's scary, right? Lol, ngwanu easy. Let's take it slowly.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
Have you observed that you spend over 2 hours playing Temple Run, Candy Crush, Pokemon Go or any of your other favourite games, even when you have decided to just play for 30 minutes. Do you remember the day you watched How To Get Away With Murder' latest season? Wasn't it just Sense8 that you planned to watch? Ehe, so what now happen? You were helpless okwa ya? What if I now tell you that your Uber drivers are usually that helpless too? This making them do an extra 2, 3 or more hours even after they have decided to rest and grab lunch. Yet, they never rested nor grabbed the said lunch.<br />
<br />
Just how, you are wondering. Psychology it is. The same psychological inducements used by game makers, the same used by Netflix to make you binge watch is the same used by Uber to keep drivers on the road. Just like in your games, you want to hit a high score target, you want to get to the next stage, you want to win an award, there's just something to keep you playing. This is exactly how it is for Uber drivers who are kept on the road with various goals and targets. And they get awards too like award for 'Excellent Driving' or 'Entertaining Drive'. Just negodu. <br />
<br />
Uber drivers do forward dispatches (claim rides when still on another ride). They usually get notified of other rides they could give to passengers within the areas they're headed. A driver headed to Ikeja City Mall could be notified of a ride in Community Road, Ikeja or somewhere around Alausa. Imagine such notifications coming with a reminder of how close to an earning target the driver is. Imagine how helpless the driver could be in this situation even when Uber claims the drivers are independent and can stop driving at anytime.<br />
<br />
Another interesting but obvious trick is the fact that Uber communicates to the drivers using female personas. This is done, evidently considering the fact that the drivers are mostly male. And you know boys will always be boys. So, Laura is always prompt to remind the drivers of the movie premiere at Eko Hotels and the possible abundance of passengers. <br />
<br />
As harmless as the tricks may seem, it's left lotta drivers driving and never stopping for a pee or a lunch break. This is regardless of the fact that drivers complain of the pay being low. Though Uber is currently working to improve things for the drivers, the company is not having a great time. Not with the PR issues and lawsuits.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I was between 6 and 8 years old, when I learnt the meaning of the word, 'ransom'. It was from a Nollywood movie entitled, 'Ransom'. Maka ndi siri that you can't learn anything from Nollywood. I remember vividly how the child actor in the film was abducted and ransom required of the parents. But, the Nigeria police came through. I learnt again from the church that Jesus died on the cross as a ransom for our sins. This exposure made me knowing that paying a ransom isn't something I would want to do. I cannot come and die for anyone's sins mbok.</div>
<a name='more'></a> <br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But, Kimani (my phone) is threatened. By ransomware. And so is every other laptop, tablet or mobile phone. In May 2017, over 75,000 people in 99 countries have been attacked by WannaCry Ransomware. Telefónica in Spain was affected. In Britain, the National Health Service (NHS) was affected resulting in the cancellation of scheduled operations in 16 hospitals. FedEx, Renault, Deutsche Bahn, Russian Interior Ministry and MegaFon, a Russian telecom were other victims. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Ransomware Attack Message </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ransomware which dates back to 1989 is a malware (Malicious Software) that prevents a victim from having access to his or her files, until a ransom is paid. The victim won't have access to any files or apps on their laptops or mobile devices. The device is locked by the attacker and can only be uncrypred if the victim pays the required fee on or before a date decided by the attacker. Payment is made usually through the bitcoin. The fee often times increase if the victim doesn't pay before the deadline. This increases the chances of the victim not having access to his or her files when the payment is eventually made. Not that there is a real guarantee of getting the files back if the payment is made on time. After all, only about 42 percent of the victims who paid got back their files. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ransomware comes most times when we click pop up ads, especially those linking to porn sites. This is a typical example of a malvertising campaign (Malicious Advertising). One can also get infected in spam email campaigns, or getting redirected to malicious sites, or even through sms. Don't have a panic attack yet. We can get consoled by the fact that ransomware targets are mostly businesses as they're more likely to pay more and fast. About 70 percent of affected business paid, and morethan 50 percent of such businesses paid over ten thousand dollars. This doesn't exempt individuals from being victims, especially because individuals are not well informed about cyber security. While we don't exactly have control over the spread of ransomware, we can take some precautions to avoid being victims. How about you consider the following : </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>1. Use Antivirus and Firewalls : </b>Keep your anti virus up to date. And use trusted and strong anti virus. Just any anti virus isn't good enough. An anti virus that is not up to date is as good as not having an anti virus. Having an anti virus doesn't exactly prevent ransomwares, but you have to be security conscious. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. Back Up Regularly :</b> Always back up your files to an external hard drive or an online backup service. This makes you ransomware resistant. You can easily uninstall or restore factory settings and start a new install if you get attacked. This way, you don't lose any file. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>3. Enable Pop Up Blocker :</b> It's best you don't allow pop ads. Cos, that's the most used method of sending ransomware. Don't be fast to click on pop up ads, use the 'X' button on pop ups to cancel. It's safer, cos sometimes the buttons on the pop up ads are already reprogrammed, puttingI your device at risk with any button you click. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>4. Be Cautious : </b>You definitely can't be cautious enough. But, you have to avoid suspicious sites. And resist the temptation of clicking on links from email address you don't trust. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>5. Alert Authorities : </b>The police isn't exactly equipped to handle issues like this. Definitely, not the Nigeria police, but reporting to them can help with data and documentation. I can imagine you asking to what end. I wish I have better answers to that. I wouldn't want to report such issues to the police myself. So, I pray I don't have to. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is best you don't pay the ransom, cos once a victim, the attackers can still attack you more for further extortion and paying doesn't guarantee that you would recover your file, which I guess is the only reason you are paying. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Isii? (Igbo people's way of saying 'you said?' or 'what?' - depending). That's exactly what I imagined you think or saying after reading the headline. Like what in heaven is solo journalism? Don't rush, we'd get through it quickly.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />Let's start with the fact that ideally, a journalist writes for a media outfit - Print - Sun, Vanguard, Independence, Complete Fashion, and Broadcast - Silverbird, AIT, Channels, EbonyLife, Cool fm and the rest. A solo journalist is just a journalist who runs his or her media outfit by himself or herself. Forget a journalism degree, a degree in English or any other writing course. No one needs that. Just have a knowledge of something, consistently express your thoughts on the subject and voila, you are the newest solo journalist in the block. Lol, it's not exactly this easy in practice, we are not talking about a walk in the park here.<br /><br />Zachary Kyra-Derkson is a solo journalist who only writes about Elon Musk, producing two articles every week. Uncle Elon is definitely a media rave. I want to be like him when I grow up, imagine being a niche for a solo journalist. Lol. That's by the way. Harrison Terry has over 10,000 subscribers and he publishes just once in every week. Victor Ugoo Njoku pulls over 5000 monthly readers as a solo journalist writing about Social Media, Technology and Personal Development. Let's not forget our blog Queen Linda Ikeji, whose solo journalism practice is worth over 500 million Naira. <br /><br />A lot of the big media are presently struggling with trust issues. We all know that the media only project the interest of the owners. This people would eagerly slaughter their readers for the sake of their investors. They get paid big bucks to write reviews and serve us contents that suits whatever purpose aimed to achieve. The solo journalist is there to fill the knowledge gap and to be the voice of credibility that is obviously lacking. <br /><br />This ever rising breed of journalists are ready to take risks that the conventional media can't take. A solo journalist thrives on being opinionated and expressing thoughts from their own point of view. Though the big media put out editorials, they play safe with the opinions expressed. Being careful not to lose readership. This style of journalism brings about rapport between readers and writers. The both arguing a point or a series of points. Almost every solo journalist has that reader who is always opposing the thoughts expressed by journalist. Why the argument could be intense at some points, there-in lies a selling point for solo journalist. <br /><br />The solo journalist isn't exactly interested in being the first to report issues as typical of the conventional media. Who cares about that in 2017? All we want is a voice of truth, a voice that we can understand and a voice that we can relate to. This, the solo journalist provides. <br /><br />You may argue about the need for editing and gate keeping. You may argue that the solo journalist won't compete favourably with the big media who are investing in Journobots (robot journalists). Well, with the solo journalists, we are sure human writers are still going to be around a while longer. Onye siri (who says) that AI can't even help solo journalists? With GRAMMARLY, a solo journalist can easily edit in less than a twinkle of an eye. Switching from British English to American English with ease. YOAST helps the solos journalist create contents that are SEO friendly. This certainly isn't all...<br />Victor Ugoo Njokuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03317518373548061148noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6667661390544628635.post-20424716225816525332017-05-08T14:41:00.000+01:002017-05-08T14:42:52.117+01:00Gifs As A Tool For Email Marketing <div style="text-align: justify;">
We would start by defining some terms : Marketing, Email Marketing and Gifs. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0ZkTjd55a2b0_TV8WJ_BxfU61vp8GOq5dCISbr64aRnjgKi-C2B-m_eJ7UzUST7C7V8ffL5D29K5Y-APbmw4xELQ7TPqZN14t7SR5v9oBaqflzFhAKTRI2bU8yAVWgm-wd8N6shWDrM_T/s1600/569fd4ff-319c-48c0-84e7-38939c2c225e.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="234" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0ZkTjd55a2b0_TV8WJ_BxfU61vp8GOq5dCISbr64aRnjgKi-C2B-m_eJ7UzUST7C7V8ffL5D29K5Y-APbmw4xELQ7TPqZN14t7SR5v9oBaqflzFhAKTRI2bU8yAVWgm-wd8N6shWDrM_T/s320/569fd4ff-319c-48c0-84e7-38939c2c225e.gif" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Marketing is a management process through which goods and services move from concept to the customer. This involves having a product at a price, deciding a place (ie a channel through which the product gets to the customers) and developing promotional strategy. <br />
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Email marketing is a way to reach consumers directly via email. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Gif is an acronym for Graphics Interchange Format. Gif was introduced in 1987 by Steve Wilhite of Compuserve as a new way to present a moving image. Ever since Gifs have been in use, but suddenly became very popular after Twitter introduced gif keyboard for its social media. Later in 2016 Facebook did same and Tumblr too. In 2015 about a 100 million Gifs were made through tweets and direct messaging. About 23 million Gifs are posted on Tumblr everyday and over 5 million gifs on Facebook messenger daily. This is how popular gifs have gotten in the past few years. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

The aim of every marketing campaign is to eventually get customers to have the product marketed and possibly more products from the brand doing the marketing. Digital marketers try every possible means to carry out effective marketing campaigns and gifs have been a very effective tool. Gifs are used for social media marketing and email marketing especially. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You may wonder why gifs. Well, Dell after using gifs in email marketing for a whole year recorded 6 percent increase in mail open rate, 42 percent increase in clicks, 103 percent increase in conversion rate and 109 percent increase in revenue. This data of course shows that gifs can be used to improve email marketing success. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Gifs have been this productive because : </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. Gifs are better than images and cheaper than video : Reports have it that people only remember 20 percent of text without visuals. There is a prediction that by 2018, 84 percent of communication would be visual. Gifs are visuals, just like images and video. And videos record greater successes than just images, because sometimes images may be misunderstood. Gifs have motions like videos too, is mobile friendly and can be easily understood. There are cheaper than videos and work just as good as videos. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. Gifs are easy to consume : It takes only a few seconds to consume gifs. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. Gifs are mobile friendly : It can be viewed in just about any device. This helps in the sharability and it doesn't consume much data. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
4. Gifs tell memorable stories : Gifs can be used in telling powerful and compelling stories that would help you make your desired conversions and the stories can be committed to memory afterall the stories would be told in few seconds. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
5. You can use gifs to explain a process and highlight benefits and features of a product or a service. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>To use gifs please avoid - </b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>1. An over use of gifs : </b>Don't use gifs too much cos it may become boring and you may run out of ideas. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. Use in the right context :</b> Don't try too hard to use gifs, use only in the right context. If you and your team can't create the right gifs for a marketing campaign, don't bother. It's best you don't use gifs at all than use gifs that won't be of any use, just because it's not used in the right context. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Wondering how to make Gifs There are quite a lot of tools that can help you make Gifs. There are quite a lot of sites. You can visit some of the sites and get already made gifs that suits your purpose or you can create your own gifs which is preferable. You can also do a gif contest on your social media platforms. The winning gifs can be used in your email marketing afterwards. <b></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Note that to have email marketing successful your email would have to be personal, conversational, and shouldn't appear like an attempt to sell or convince the receiver to make purchases. You should sell solutions through your email marketing campaign and not your product exactly. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One other challenge for email marketing is building contacts, while you may be tempted to buy contacts, you are advised to make your own contacts, and the easiest way to get contacts is to give your customers freebies in exchange for their emails. You can offer free ebooks or reviews of what you sell or anything you are sure your consumers would want to have, and this is in exchange for their email addresses. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Be forming slay queen or yoruba demon till you wake up one day to a world where you have no jobs, courtesy of technology. Can I say this in a harsher way? While I try to figure that out, lemme announce to you that we are approaching a period of dramatic shifts in thinking and super intelligence explosion - singularity. <a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Singularity is a point where nothing seem to make sense. Singularity has become a subject of discourse within the last two decades, largely because of the efforts of two thinkers - Vernor Vinge, a scientist cum science fiction writer and Ray Kurzwell, author of the book, 'Singularity Is Near'. The efforts of John Von Neumen, I.J Good and other scholars aren't ignored. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Vernor Vinge in 1993 wrote that, "within thirty years, we will have the technological means to create super human intelligence, shortly after, the human era will be ended." Ray Kurzwell in his book defined singularity as "a future period during which the pace of technological change will be so rapid, its' impact so deep, the human life will be irreversibly transformed. ...this epoch will transform the concept that we rely on to give meaning to our lifes, from our business models to the cycle of human life, including death itself."Kurzwell went ahead to speculate 2045 as the year computer based intelligence will significantly exceed human intelligence. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A scarier way to look at singularity would be the definition of singularity by Kevin Kelly, the founder of Wired Magazine. He defines singularity as "the point at which all the change in the last million years will be superceded by the change in the next five minutes. "One can't even begin to imagine the possibility of a five minutes change trumping advancements that happened within a million years. It is quite unthinkable, as unthinkable as ATM must have been for those who existed before the 1970s when ATM was introduced. And as unthinkable as Google, Facebook, YouTube, GoFundMe and other groundbreaking technology of recent years must have been to those who existed before them. I am almost certain that no one ever imagined or thought that we would be clicks away from just about anything we want. Atleast, not in the way it is. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Before you run off claiming this to be a sign of end time, let me remind you that, that was the exact reactions of a lot of Nigerians to ATM a few years ago. Nigerians at some point wrote off social media as a sign of end time and regarded signing up to social media as a way of selling one's soul to the devil. While I do not intend to argue singularity being a sign of end time, I would point out that being expectant of this change would position us to make better use of artificial intelligence. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Let's look at a few pointers to singularity being near. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjitjv1dxUI3Kd8fDO-Zc7Su8tCZQGMS2YOuPw7QVHKSK_vwl_oj2FEegMqr0qUrBW69y7NevEYYUF2MZhVMtnKMZwpPbk7kfvStG0oWPgZSHikDrJFXa5sq0LThQrNAKCRPISAbIg37Kub/s1600/images-2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="251" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjitjv1dxUI3Kd8fDO-Zc7Su8tCZQGMS2YOuPw7QVHKSK_vwl_oj2FEegMqr0qUrBW69y7NevEYYUF2MZhVMtnKMZwpPbk7kfvStG0oWPgZSHikDrJFXa5sq0LThQrNAKCRPISAbIg37Kub/s320/images-2.jpeg" title="Singularity and Nigeria " width="320" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. <b>Robots are doing human jobs :</b> This is not happening in Nigeria presently, but would someday. Unimate, the first industrial robot was used in General Motors Assembly Line in 1962. Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) was launched in the 1970s. Baxter and Sawyer are robots that can work safely around humans and as well as learn new tasks within minutes. All thanks to Rethink Robotics. Recently, Adidas announced that it would start marketing its first series of shoes manufactured by robots. Xiamomingbot, a robot owned by Toutiao, a Chinese media outlet reported the 2016 Olympics writing over 450 articles. Washington Post employed Heliogrief, a robot that covered the 2016 US elections. Your my? I would be saying oh my too, if I just came across this info. Lol. Need I also mention military robots? "The Day A Computer Writes A Novel, a book written by a robot was accepted for submission for the Hoshi Shinichi Literary Awards in Japan. And I could go on and on. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2.<b> Ever heard that genes could be edited? :</b> Ever imagined that the genes of mosquitoes can be edited so they no longer carry malaria or so that they can carry another virus? Well, that's a possibility. In 2005, the US government started compiling the Cancer Genome Atlas. This allows doctors target cancer based on the genes rather than target the organ affected. With the tool CRISPR, scientists can edit genes easily thereby helping to render virus inactive and regulate cell activity. How worse or better can technology get? You are beginning to imagine science fiction become reality? This of course gives us hopes and as well as create fears. Wouldn't Artificial Intelligence work against us? How much autonomy do we allow robots? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Again, from the singularity speculations AI is meant to improve itself, and create better versions of itself and of course keep improving itself. Doesn't that sound like we being relegated to the back by our own creations? This brings us to a point where we are choiceless about collaborations with computers and robots. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Be ready and see only opportunities from the beautiful change that threatens our dear life and all that we know is all I can say.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's not unusual for brands to 'tiff' concepts or ideas from their competitors. Facebook is beginning to prove itself as the 'Baba' in this kinda game and there seem to be no stopping Zuckerberg and his team.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
'...in order to stay on top of its game, this is how Facebook copes, it ensures that all the latest and greatest features of other competitors are available on Facebook'. Maja Stevanovich, SVP of content strategy at Mungo Creative Group. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Facebook 'copycatability' was remarkable when they introduced the hashtags to Facebook. We all know the hashtags is a twitter idea. The hashtag wasn't exactly a success on Facebook, but then it worked fine. Because Facebook is advantaged to have enormous usership which is at over 1.8 billion active daily users presently. With that much usership, regardless of how failed an idea is on Facebook, some measure of success would be recorded. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Recently, Facebook 'aff tiff' snapchat main idea, which has been integrated into all Facebook owned social media networks - Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp. The whole world is busy trying to adapt to the snapchat feature on Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp, while digital marketers are trying to figure out how to use this new feature for effective advertising, and marketing that another Facebook 'tiffery' is almost unnoticed. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Facebook, last week announced the new 'Personal Fundraiser' feature. This new feature is a clone of GoFundMe, a popular crowd funding website, that allows people raise money for various personal causes. The new feature according to Facebook would allow users raise money through Facebook. Though, for now, funds can only be raised for six causes - education expenses; medical bills; medical procedures for pets; public crises relief; personal emergencies like accident or fire; and costs related to the death of a loved one. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Remember, last year, GoFundMe was used to raise money for the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. Some users were also helped to raise funds to cover travel and expenses relating to the Olympics in Rio De Janeiro. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Snapchat usership dropped after IG stories was introduced. And this was the first Facebook owned social media that explored the 24hours lasting snapchat feature. Needless to say what has happened within the past few months that Facebook has incorporated the 24hours snapchat story feature into all its social media networks - Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger. </div>
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
All this happened shortly after Snapchat got public in a record breaking estimate of 20 - 25 billion dollars. I should point out that snapchat had refused selling to Facebook for 3 billion dollars in 2013. One would then begin to wonder not just what the fate of snapchat is, with its main feature yanked by Facebook and integrated into all its social media networks. But, also if the attempt is Facebook's bid to see the end of this fast growing 'baby' social media network. Shit happens in business, right? Although, snapchat rose fastly to have over 150million users and generate 400 million dollars annually, the business is yet to make profits. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
However, a greater percentage of snapchat users are between the ages of 18 and 25. This reduces the chances of snapchat being ideal for digital marketing. As there are researches pointing to the fact that the generation X use social media more than the millenials. Though, Digital marketers with snapchat takeover strategy has been able to use snapchat for marketing. There is still the challenge of measurability of the marketing campaign. This is because of the snapchat privacy feature and the short span of snaps. The success of every marketing campaign should be measured and analyzed, otherwise marketing is incomplete. Regardless, Kylie Jenner recorded success selling her lip products on snapchat, and Nigeria Bobrisky points to the fact that there are possible marketing successes, only that the success can't be measured effectively. This then raises fears for the survival of snapchat even though their filters are better than those on Facebook owned platforms. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And snapchat isn't just sitting to watch Facebook win. It introduced the search feature in January. This was made possible by snapchat acquisition of Vurb, a search and recommendations app last year. With this feature, the snapchat machine learning algorithm sorts posts into relevant feeds that users can look for. Oh my, and snapchat April 1st prank is the new talk. Snapchat on Saturday added the Instagram filter feature, making snapchats look like instagram posts. This feature has sub-menus for likes and comments and a little comic in the form of having a post liked by 'mom'. May the best man win. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
About 82 percent of small business owners use social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest to grow their businesses. This says much about the benefits of social media marketing. Now, if you are still undecided about using social media to market your brand, then let's go through this.</div>
<a name='more'></a> <br />
<h2 style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://ugoonjoku.blogspot.com.ng/2017/03/4-ways-to-pitch-your-boss-to-invest-in.html?m=1" target="_blank">4 Ways To Pitch Your Boss To Invest In Social Media Marketing </a></h2>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>1. Social Media Gets Your Words Out: </b>Social Media helps get words out about you and your brand. It gives you massive exposure to your target audience. The social media also helps you create and grow customers and target audience. If you really say the right things, be sure your followers will tell others about you. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. Social Media Is Popular: </b>It can only take one living in a cave or in the past not to know about social media. Facebook has about 1.7 billion monthly users worldwide. In Nigeria, about 16 million people are active users of Facebook. This makes Facebook about the best place to begin social media marketing, because of its extensive reach and dynamic functionality. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>3. Social Media Is For All Ages: </b>A 2015 Pew Review Center Study reveal that 65 percent of US adults use social networks. In another research, 52 percent of adults who use the internet have at least 2 social media accounts. Between 2005 and 2015, social media usage amongst people between the ages of 30 and 49 increased from 69 percent to 77 percent. The statistics above, prove that social media should no longer be considered as a play thing for teenagers, but as a marketing tool that can be targeted for various age ranges and demography. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj18RidYOoWn1ck2zFXFwzsKNR4Hku-d1LFo04-7Ek3FfP6DJ_pmJTcoPe7dIFxk_w3KrF-or_kVnjWCzdR6RN73kDZizGZgpzLzfAAACeqQe7d58QsVjLgCC9ANl_LSKp_FWuE6NjKkdRP/s1600/Screenshot_2016-12-05-20-22-19-1-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Ways to grow business with social media " border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj18RidYOoWn1ck2zFXFwzsKNR4Hku-d1LFo04-7Ek3FfP6DJ_pmJTcoPe7dIFxk_w3KrF-or_kVnjWCzdR6RN73kDZizGZgpzLzfAAACeqQe7d58QsVjLgCC9ANl_LSKp_FWuE6NjKkdRP/s320/Screenshot_2016-12-05-20-22-19-1-1.jpg" title="Social Media business grow " width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>4. Social Media Ads Is Cost Effective: </b>Social media ads is of lower cost than ads on television and other conventional media. The ads are not just inexpensive, but rewarding. With proper ad targeting, Return On Investment (ROI) is guaranteed. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>5. Social Media Facilitates Content Share:</b> Consumers are now quick to come to social media when in need for information concerning any business. So, your business should best utilize this for their benefits. This could be done by creating contents that will keep your customers and target audience up to date about your products, services, and upcoming events. Customers can also see your social media profiles on search engines. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>6. Social Media Users Are Active:</b> I know you probably have that friend who still doesn't understand social media, and isn't an active social media user. But, this doesn't change the fact that billions of people use social media on daily basis. According to an Informate Mobile Intelligence Report, social media users in the US check their social media accounts 17 times daily. A regular customer, at the most can visit your brick and mortar office three times in a week, but on social media, you can feed your target audience and customers a multiple times within a week. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>7. Social Media Promotes Two-way Communication:</b> With the conventional media, you communicate to your target audience or customers, without getting feedback. Or getting the feedback late, if it ever comes. With social media, this is different, feedback is fast. You can have dialogues with your customers and target audience. From this you learn about your audience interests, thoughts and expectations from your business. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h2 style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://ugoonjoku.blogspot.com.ng/2017/03/nokia-selling-us-nostalgia-or-new-3310.html?m=1" target="_blank">Nokia : Selling Nostalgia or the new 3310? </a></h2>

<br /><a href="http://ugoonjoku.blogspot.com.ng/2017/03/nokia-selling-us-nostalgia-or-new-3310.html?m=1" target="_blank"></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>8. Social Media Improves Customer Service:</b> With the two-way communication created between you and your customers with social media, you can easily up your customer service game. You can do this by showing customers how much willing you are to provide them the unique experience only your business can offer. With the help of social media, you can attend to all your customers feedback on social media fast, and of course do that 24/7. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>9. Social Media And Your Mail List: </b>Social media can as well aid you in email marketing. You can encourage customers to subscribe to your newsletter from social media, and even share links for such subscription. Sharing your email newsletter across your social media profiles can solve the problem of content. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>10. Social Media Is Everywhere: </b>Many people now use their smart phones to check out their favourite sites. And most of the social media networks have mobile versions of their platforms. This necessitates the need to be on this platforms, as your target customers make their buying decisions on the go and in between chats. Having social media presence makes you just a click away, and you would be surprised how many of your customers were taking shit when you closed deals with them. Lol. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Before you worry off your head about how to launch your marketing on social media and still have time to deliver, I would suggest you hook up with Social Media Managers. These are experts who are more than willing to help you draw your marketing strategy, and make you the conversions you have been waiting for. <div style="text-align: justify;">
Nostalgia has worked for brand when they seem to be low on ideas. Will this be same for Nokia and its'iconic Nokia 3310? <br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiItPYmyQo_H6XU5e7Bc5QwJCAi_ffGnzwE0AUelby_mtz8LnhMZgIl-2hZ8jV8Lijzm0hmHanc1Gm0yxP3fmakyDcGkLPoo1evbV02LEDj9hrI6lVYqkdbemZPH9Oz36JcP5rIulNB05G/s1600/200w%25282%2529.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiItPYmyQo_H6XU5e7Bc5QwJCAi_ffGnzwE0AUelby_mtz8LnhMZgIl-2hZ8jV8Lijzm0hmHanc1Gm0yxP3fmakyDcGkLPoo1evbV02LEDj9hrI6lVYqkdbemZPH9Oz36JcP5rIulNB05G/s1600/200w%25282%2529.gif" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It seems our world has climaxed with ideas, and for anti-climax, nostalgia is being sold to us. The Pokémon Go break points to that. President Trump campaign slogan, 'Let's make America great again', speaks so much of yesteryears. The movies are bringing it all back with loads of sequel - (Star wars, Beauty and the beast, Spider-Man homecoming, Logan and the list goes on). Now, we all want to reminisce. Nokia wants to play the technology voice of nostalgia, dragging us all home, shortly after returning from its' sojourn to oblivion. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
Do we really need the trip back to phones that can only text, call and play snake? Oh, the new Nokia 3310 is set to be better. A lil grown up, smaller version of our dear bulky Nokia 3310. Oh dear. Biko, phone that can not take selfie, is that one phone? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With the improvement on the new Nokia 3310, the phone to me is phone for kids yet to be initiated into the instalife and for oldies who care nothing about snapchat. They could make due with the calls, text, radio, and sharing the 'great' pictures the 2mp rear camera would offer. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But, the pre-order expectations have been exceeded according to reports. Are Nigerians part of the people already placing orders? Who are those buying the phone? Why are they buying the phone? A need to hold on to the new phone and feel the rush that the memory of the old 3310 brings? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I certainly want to own the new 3310, not because it meets my phone needs. I just want the feel of owning this phone that every aunty and uncle owned. This phone that I couldn't own just because I was but a child when it was the 'it' phone. I want to feel bad some for all the friends I couldn't reach out to, cos I could make newer ones on the go. I just want that feel of nostalgia. Isn't that what Nokia wants with the phone? Selling us our past repackaged. Could they be more? </div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDqzpERWK-mSNExiufnFWr_hTpEXqGI7ZBIabQo5B41k6jhijzksHpBvjT5z8oq0YML3WrNFqa9RiCVVMbobgZt_PYCvzNJMRIA6C7thn-pTu4qRxP-YfauBomFEQEGeQQHa60QVXb0rN2/s1600/Screenshot_2017-02-11-23-13-42-1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="319" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDqzpERWK-mSNExiufnFWr_hTpEXqGI7ZBIabQo5B41k6jhijzksHpBvjT5z8oq0YML3WrNFqa9RiCVVMbobgZt_PYCvzNJMRIA6C7thn-pTu4qRxP-YfauBomFEQEGeQQHa60QVXb0rN2/s320/Screenshot_2017-02-11-23-13-42-1.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Though a lot of us have profiles on leading social media networks, it still doesn't occur to many of us that social media can boost business. You would be surprised that your CMO or your boss at head of marketing or digital doesn't understand how social media can strengthen overall marketing goals and drive the business forward. This, therefore makes it challenging to pitch for investment in social media marketing and to pass this hurdle, you may want to consider making your boss understand that :</div>
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>1. Platforms are growing :</b> To score high, you would have to emphasize the scale of Social Media and its growing opportunities. Take for instance, Facebook alone has over 1billion daily active users, and other platforms - Instagram, Twitter, YouTube etc are growing at a fast pace. Every business can directly, effectively and cost efficiently reach its current and prospective customers via social media. Social Media offers business and brands the opportunity to effectively communicate with their target audience, because using social media is taking your product to where the customers ate - social media. While your boss may still argue that social media is for teenagers, data shows that different age ranges can be reached through social media. With the increasing purchase power of the younger generation, it is important for marketers to be active on digital channels. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. Ad Spend On Digital Marketing Is Increasing : </b>Marketing experts predict that digital ad spend is expected to surpass television ad spend by 2017. To excel in the digital terrain, brands and companies are already shifting ads budgets from the traditional media to digital channels, including social media. A look at the quatrely Facebook earnings prove that companies are seeing how social media can improve customer retention, acquisition and drive revenue growth. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>3. Content Is Bae :</b> Relevant content is the currency of social media marketing. Explaining this to your boss won't come easy. Creating engaging content can lead to business rewards. To master social media marketing, you have to create good contents. Your customers are actively seeking out content from companies like yours, and to succeed, you are expected to publish good content regularly. It's required of Social Media marketers to offer relevant content to their target audience at the right time. This would generate new interactions and foster old interactions. At the end, there is value for the budget. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>4. Social Media Drives Revenue :</b> A marketer shouldn't ignore that social media is now a paid channel. Companies are to invest wisely, so as to stand out, considering the massive competition. So, you have to prove that there would be Return On Investment (ROI). There can only be ROI if social media marketing investments have direct impact on customer acquisition, purchases and brand awareness. If you manage to convince your boss, there will be need to partner with a social media manager who can help you develop content that will work for your audience, publish these contents at the right time, so as to increase organic reach and impressions, making right decisions about which content to invest in, to get the best possible outcome. Being able to understand this and explain to your boss will definitely score you high, and you know what that means, *winks*</div>

Bandile Matsenjewa is one African writer to look out for. At a young age the Swaziland origin writer is already taking territories. He regardless of being raised in a rural area has become an internationally published author. He also delights in helping other young authors reach their dreams of being published. Nigerian author, Chukwu John David is a testimony to this. Read all Matsenjewa has to say about growing up in a rural area, how his writing was inspired by her 8th grade English teacher, Pen That Cold Addition - a writers group and a whole lot more. <span id="goog_23292652"></span><span id="goog_23292653"></span><br />

<b>At what point in your life, did you know that writing is something you would want to do? :</b> I was in 8th grade when my English teacher mentioned my being good in most of my compositions and I was the top English Language & English Literature student from 8th grade until 12th grade. So I knew I could write after that inspirational conversation with my teacher. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<b>Before then, what were you thinking of doing with your life? : </b>All my life, even after discovering the author in myself, I always wanted to be a pioneer, set records and break them myself, be a teacher, since teachers played a huge role in my life. So being a teacher is what I always wanted as much as I wanted to stand on my own. </div>

<b>Are you considering going to the classroom anytime, at least you can combine teaching and writing? :</b> Yes I am actually in class. And I schedule my time perfectly so that I can have time to write and study too. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<b>The single story of a rural child is a child who would grow to be a carpentar, farmer, fisher man or learn a trade. How did you manage to lead us to a different story? : </b>Let's just say, my ambitions were or are beyond what people envision. Certain stereotypical perceptions shouldn't limit us, so personally, I hate being boxed in. What I'm trying to say is, I always had the urge to be different, stand out. To be exact, I wanted to do something that ignited the inner fire as much as it made me unique and be a pioneer. </div>

<b>Let's talk about your works, what inspired your writing Better Man? :</b> Ummm... I am growing up from a young king to a man. Better Man is about owning yourself, being the king of your own jungle. So, Better Man is about growing up, bettering yourself, those around you, being a good, decent man and acting like a man. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<b>Then, Ngi'Mel'Okuhler, what's it about? : </b>It's a personal book bro. It's about my ambitions, about what I foresee in me cause. "Ngi'Mel'Okuhler means 'awaiting greatness' in the english language. So it's about my vision to say, and I put it all in a book of poems. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<b>Talking about poems, in a world where a lot of interests are no longer in poetry, what propels you to still write poems? : </b>It depends on the message to be fleed, if it needs a poem, I put it on metaphors and similes, give the message some taste and flow. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<b>Don't you consider the readership the poem gets? :</b> I do, the more the readership the more surety I get that one has heard or read the poem. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjPG-V_E36nSGf0QPzt_lLwAJpt219tv0FQeEbPTu1pdfmJcGwAR-8pxYMrR7Q1qCgLD9lfKbt9nkpO6yDMUc9QvlbFdcGeKUMg84PIJ99mNjGZN3sDWe1a4Yo0ejrU_unwjYwNHp7fyyB/s1600/IMG-20161219-WA0009.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjPG-V_E36nSGf0QPzt_lLwAJpt219tv0FQeEbPTu1pdfmJcGwAR-8pxYMrR7Q1qCgLD9lfKbt9nkpO6yDMUc9QvlbFdcGeKUMg84PIJ99mNjGZN3sDWe1a4Yo0ejrU_unwjYwNHp7fyyB/s320/IMG-20161219-WA0009.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<b>But then, there's a lot of speculations that there's a decline in the readership of poetry which is 'supposedly' replaced by rap, what would you say about that? : </b>Well<b>, </b>before rap came to life, poetry was as it is to this day. People explore different types of poetry, from slam to free verse and limericks. I think people shifted their focus to rap turning a blind eye on the fact that rap is poetry in a tune, hence, most rappers are good with poetry. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<b>In essence, rap will never replace poetry? :</b> Yes, it will never take over poetry, since poetry is intergrated in rap. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<b>Pen That Cold Addiction is a group you started, what is the group about and what inspired the group? :</b> It's a group for aspiring writers and writers who are willing to help out young writers. The group was inspired by the number of young writers who wanna get published out there. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<b>So, what exactly does the group do for the young writers and how do you do that? : </b>The group finds writers in societies, bring them together, do shows for the poets and writers, get them published and their books are sold. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<b>Does the group fund the publications? : </b>Yes it does, currently we've been struggling with funding so we use other ways to make money like handcrafts and mentoring students. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<b>Chukwu John David and a few other young writers have attributed their success so far to you. What exactly did you do for them and how does that make you feel? : </b>*laughs* Chukwu John David has become more of a brother than a friend. Well, he approached me before he published his debut book, African Dark Light. I helped him in finding publishers and we were just friends who were on Facebook and we went as far as going to Georgia, Tblisi together for his book launch. It was beautiful. Then is Mlungisi Nxumalo, S'bahle Dlamini, those are my bloods, they have made me push certain limits. Now they both own two books engraved with their names and I foresee them winning awards as I'm hoping we'll slowly find a way into being a publishing house. Then a number of Nigerian authors have really inspired me and in turn, I have inspired them and that's a blessing. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<b>Which writers do you look up to and why? :</b> Nicholas Gordon, Mike Wells, Paulo Coelho & Chinua Achebe. They wrote and write what they feel and or felt and it leaves positive response on every reader. So, now I'm working on a book titled "The Recipe" inspired by the above mentioned authors. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<b>What do we expect from The Recipe and when is it coming? : </b>I'm hoping to be done with it before my 21st birthday on 29 January. By 29 January it will be available on <a href="http://amazon.com/" target="_blank">amazon.com <b> </b></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What do you do to improve in your writing? : </b>I read new books from new writers. And best selling authors. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<b>What plans do you have for 2017? :</b> I just wanna grow as a writer, grow my writers' group and create more networking around the world. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<b>What is your advice for other aspiring writers especially those from the rural areas? : </b>They just need to write what they believe is to write, tell their own different stories, we don't write the same way, so factually, they'll be unique. And they should never allow exploition in their goals and careers. </div>

The Organisers of one of the most memorable events in Anambra State in 2016, The Unizik Fashion Show and Awards is back in 2017 with an even more interesting style and momentum. The Unizik Fashion Show and Awards or UFSA as it was popularly called has been as of this date January 6th 2017 changed to The Anambra Fashion Show and Awards which will conventionally be an annual event without compromise.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /> The sole aim of this major change was to move past the shores of Unizik and to revitalize the essence and importance of Fashion events in Anambra State.<br /><br />The event is basically set to promote and celebrate Fashion Enterprise inside and outside the state. The AFSA organization was also established to celebrate fashion in a diversified and ecstatic way. This therefore will give the organization hope and also give Fashion Enterprise in Anambra State a reputable name and a platform to stand solidly for investors (Local and Foreign) to see the Light in the Business of Fashion in Anambra State.<br /><br />The Anambra Fashion Show and Awards 2017 is scheduled for May/June 2017 and promises to be bigger and better than what was witnessed with the UFSA in 2016.<br /><b><br />Signed.<br />AFSA management.<br /><br />For Inquiries, Sponsorship and Partnerships kindly send an email to <a href="mailto:afsawards@gmail.com" target="_blank">afsawards@gmail.com</a><br />Thank you.</b></div>

As we set to start preparation for the XPERIENCE WOMANITY AWARDS 2017.<br />
<br />
We would like to inform you that it will be held on the 22nd of April 2017, in Enugu state, Nigeria.<br />
<br />
This year is going to be more explosive, because we aim to achieve quite a lot of things this year. <br />
<br />
The theme for this edition is #letwomenlead <br />
<br />
So it's the leading women edition. <br />
<br />
We have come to understand that most entrepreneurs especially females do not value core business vitals, which are synergy, network, partnership, team work, I could go on. <br />
<br />
They feel they know so much so, they don't even go for trainings or seek mentorship. <br />
<br />
Alot of things are going bad, most businesses are going down, some are static, while others are even starting off on the wrong ways. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghy0CfSima0ikmXSBADGQbVD759DdtW5Y7lKaTeAs68NmwEXRsRTQ1n6qBkLiP3HJZEjpjxwETWyKAaK6UpqWG52NkYbZdYL9KFunqvudOEGSg-WK7dumjoYo53Fqj1dX1LEp_CjIh6BeK/s1600/1482142297232.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="315" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghy0CfSima0ikmXSBADGQbVD759DdtW5Y7lKaTeAs68NmwEXRsRTQ1n6qBkLiP3HJZEjpjxwETWyKAaK6UpqWG52NkYbZdYL9KFunqvudOEGSg-WK7dumjoYo53Fqj1dX1LEp_CjIh6BeK/s320/1482142297232.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
So this year we are making a call out for 1000 female entrepreneurs, to synergize, network and partner. <br />
<br />
We would be holding a day seminar which will be as a break out section for mentors from different entrepreneurial field to take Young entrepreneurs on development skills and branding. <br />
<br />
We believe together everybody achieves more. <br />
<br />
We are open for partnership and sponsorship. <br />
<br />
We hope you be part of us, because it's the reason why we are here, we are here for all of us. <br />
<br />

'Tell them we come from nothing', 'We won't apologize for who we are' are lines that must stick to your head after listening to Redwine's debut single 'Superstar'. The Port Harcourt based eccentric music artiste was fast to give us 'Be Happy' and 'Care For Me', making it three songs for 2015, the year his music career began. For 2016, he gave us, 'Lemonade', a song produced by Dj Coublon. Redwine has risen to be one of the most sort after music artiste in Port Harcourt. In this interview he revealed his determination to grab that hit in 2017, talked about his switch from modelling to singing and a whole lot of other things you would be glad to find out. Have fun<b>. </b><br />

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What's up with the switch from modelling to singing : </b>Singing has always been my passion. Modeling is or was what I do or did to pass time. Sort of a hobby you know. But as soon as the time came, I knew I had to be serious with one, so I went for the passion. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Considering your passion for music, what do you do to become a better music artiste? : </b>Aside my music contributions in the choir and other religious singing platforms, I've also succeeded in putting myself out there in the society, and of course, have tried contributing positively. Through my music. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What is the unique thing about your music? : </b>I think it's the 'Redwine Thing' *Laughs* OK let me get serous, the unique thing is its ability to touch lives. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>How did the name Redwine come about? : </b>I'm a writer too and most times when I'm not out sitting with friends, I stay at home all by myself, writing. Though I usually have the company of good music and a bottle of 'Redwine', mostly cause of how fine it tastes. </div>

<b>What inspires your writing and your music? </b>: Family, society, relationship. *smiles* Family - friends and fans inclusive, yes I exceedingly love them. Society, I just feel there's a lot that should be done, and I think we are distracted by the unimportant things and that's taken our focus from the main things that our society needs. Relationships, *laughs* My relationship is understanding. *laughs more* </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>How would you describe the reaction you get from your listeners? : </b>My music is eccentric, it's touching, inspiring, calm. I'm grateful, especially for the comments I receive online and offline. I'm grateful. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>And the negative reactions? :</b> I take as a stepping stone to improve. </div>

<b>What's your view about the Nigeria music industry? : </b>Well,, there's a whole lot to say about the industry. But I'll say there's no structure. But then, there are people who in their own little way, are paving the way for generations to come. So, yes the industry is growing, atleast as compared to years ago. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>How do you define good music? : </b>Everyone's got a different taste. But to me, any music that makes me feel in a certain way I couldn't have felt before is good music. </div>

<b>HOW SHE STARTED </b><br />
My acting started when I was in secondary school. I was doing stage plays and drama. After which I decided to take it as a career. I started attending auditions and started playing minor roles. From there things got better and look how far we have gone. God indeed has been faithful.<br />
<b><br />THE CHALLENGES</b><br />
The challenges were much you know, as an up coming actor, it was very difficult for producers and directors to trust you to give you a major role ,they will feel one might not be able to carry it but as time goes by my act and performance convinced them.<br />
<br />
Although it looked like it won't come , but with patience and hardwork one can actually achieve all they dream of.<br />
<b><br />THE BIG BREAK</b><br />
Well I have done quite some good movies but I think NO JERSEY NO MATCH (a short film) gave me that break when I came in fresh into the industry.<br />
<br />
But I will say BURNING BRIDGES did it, although I have not gotten that massive break I desire but soon by God's grace it will come.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Mother drove out in a hurry this evening. The Human Rights office in Ikeja summoned her. She dropped a crispy thousand Naira note on her way out. She left it on the centre-table, muttering something about buying Indomie. <br /> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Chidi was still in my room, going through a photo-album- my baby pictures. He sat on the bed, engrossed. He enjoyed laughing at my square head. "See as you dey like akidi," he quipped. <br />"Biko. I'm tired, Chidi."<br />"Badagry is far sha, you should."<br />"What did we go to look for again sef?"<br />"Do I know for you and your bestie," Chidi chuckled with a refreshing glee. "The two of them should be in one cheap hotel in Badagry." <br />"I doubt," I said. I bit his soft ear lobes, Kpomo. Nibbling on them with passion. "Christian wants to take things slow and easy with her." <br />"Hmm! You're smelling fa," Chidi replied. He shoved me off the bed, blocked his nostrils and then giggled. Sounding like a character from Star Wars. "Let's go bathe." <br />"Let us?"<br />"I know, I still smell like strawberries."<br /> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He got down from the bed, effeminately tugging his ripped white jeans. "I swear I want to take this home," he stated. Holding my album tightly, hugging it like a baby. "I want to use them for Christmas rituals." <br />The album was specifically made by Granny and Mother. It was a recording of my life in a thousand, thousand words. It was the one place I could see my oyinbo runaway father who died in the Sosoliso Plane Crash.<br />"If I blow your head ehn!"<br />"Oya shoot me, Akidi!"<br /> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He inched closer and fell dramatically on me, Disney Princess. He gazed into my eyes, made me feel important. I slithered down his belly, unbuckled his belt. The bold Hilfiger head, stubborn. I unzipped his jeans stylishly. He relaxed, tittering too loudly when they got stuck on his Chelsea boots. <br />He ran his tapering fingers on my hairless chest. Biting my neck, making me forget about the splashing, running water in the bathtub. <br />"What's that?"<br />"Gini?"<br />"Those vibrations"<br />" I'm that good," I moaned mockingly. <br />"Ewu," he exclaimed, smiling. Baring those diamonds in his eye sockets. <br />"It's your phone."<br /> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I released my lips from his nipples, reaching out to my left pocket. Searching for the little Nokia phone lodged in there, somewhere. <br />"Christian, what's good?"<br />"Please! Bella is having a nervous breakdown."<br />I dashed for my blue overalls, next to Chidi. Trying hard not to stop and gaze at his naked androgynous body, lithe from years of gymnastics and ballet. <br />"Bring her in," I said. "I'll call Ryan." <br /> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Chidi and I paced back and forth, hands interlocked over our heads, occasionally holding hands to assure ourselves she was okay while we waited at the gate. Christian drove in with Mother's black Lexus, violently. The tyres coated with baked mud-pies from the outskirt town of Badagry. Bella decided a visit to Badagry would be fun, "Relationship goals." We paired up and vamoosed from the Island in two black Lexuses. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />Granny was in the kitchen. Working. Racing against time to prepare local herbs to calm Bella. Nchuanwu and Onugbu purged the air freshener out of the West Wing. <br />Ryan didn't come. Traffic on Third Mainland Bridge was horrific, he called Chidi to tell him he was on his way back to LUTH. Granny's local remedy calmed her- she should use it on herself as well. Bella sat up and stared at Christian. Deep, deep, spiritual stares before Christian let a tear run wild. Bella curled her legs under her like an injured kitten, falling back on the green sofa.<br />"The boy we met," she murmured with her mouth in her hands. <br />I tried to remember which we had a good conversation with. "The one at LASPOTECH?" <br />"The little boy at Badagry."<br />"Our future President, I love his innocence. "<br />" You remember he said he was hungry?" I sipped some of the green tea Chidi made me quietly, "We couldn't give him the last five hundred Naira note on us." </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"I told him to buy foodstuff, I slipped a thousand Naira note on to his tiny hands before we left," Chidi said softly, his eyes kissing mine. <br /> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Bella sighed. She started weeping, tired bloodshot eyes lucid. "They beat him," she said, taking a long heave. She couldn't continue. Christian wasn't planning on doing so either. <br />Granny got off a phone call we didn't notice. "Your mum said she'll be home tomorrow." She checks her account balance, I hear the alert. "She's gathering evidence for a case." <br />Chidi helped Granny clean up the scent leaves littered on the living room floor. "Did Dr. Ademide say anything about the case? "<br />"Udi case Human Rights, nwam." <br />"Hmm, domestic abuse?" I inquired, surfing through Facebook. Almost immediately, I found the answer littered on my news feed, I dropped the phone in disbelief. <br />She bent slowly to pick up the last leaf, arthritis rusts her waist more each day. She answered after panting, "A seven-year old boy was set on fire in Badagry for attempting to steal Garri." She turned to leave immediately, heading towards her room to most probably apply a heat balm- Aboniki. <br /> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Chidi sat in the middle of the parlor, thinking of who to ask. To tell him it wasn't that boy on a green shirt Granny was talking about. <br />He stared at Bella who shook her dada hair vigorously. Drying her flooded, puffy eyes and wiping her runny nose. "They killed him," she whimpered. "He had no one to fight for him." <br />Chidi sat in the middle of the room. I dwelled in his thoughts. The anxiety he felt towards life. The vanity he knew of this world. "Jungle Justice is terrible," he said, dissolving into tears as he moved next to me. <br />"2012," Bella said. Jolting her head, vehemently. I was anxious to hear what she had to say, we all were. <br />"This is how they killed MTN at Aluu, "she sniveled. The AC and the cold harmattan couldn't help the heat I felt in the room. I felt the tension increase sporadically. I felt goosebumps popping. My armpits and neck itched. <br />Chidi raised his head like a cobra. He turned his head, left then right. Waiting for who would answer first. He inquired, "Who is MTN?" <br />The room was silent. The room died. Bella must have come back to Earth, she kept quiet.<br />"Bella, was he your e...?"<br />"MTN was my brother," Christian interjected. "Let's not talk about him, please." Christian must have seen me. I was giving hand and eye signals. Bella, shut up!<br />MTN was my first boyfriend, a student at the University of Port Harcourt. He was lynched, barbarically. Alongside three of his friends. I watched the news that day, next to Mother. I watched four boys being beaten by an angry mob of animals. I squinted my eyes and recognized MTN. I bawled noisily while cursing everyone. I watched him being burned alive. I learned of his device on a news channel. MTN was everywhere, he is still in my heart. <br /> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Bella had sucked it up. We discussed on the round dinning table after hot plates of spicy Indomie. We played cards, taking turns to read stanzas of an Olali poem.<br />"What would his mother do?<br />Maybe he didn't have one?<br />Is he an orphan?<br />Maybe this was the break he needed?<br /><br />What will I tell his siblings?<br />Maybe he didn't have any?<br />Is he the breadwinner?<br />Maybe he took it to feed his ailing grandmother?<br /><br />What have we done?<br />Maybe he didn't deserve it?<br />Is he really dead?<br />Maybe he hadn't eaten in many days?<br /><br />What can I do now?<br />Maybe he will make this vice end?<br />Is he going to be the last?<br />Maybe he is the victim before me?<br /><br />What did I do wrong besides filming?<br />Maybe I could have pleaded harder?<br />Is he not the one who took my phone?<br />Maybe I could have done the same?<br /><br />What did he say before he died?<br />Maybe he loved God and Heaven?<br />Is he a Christian?<br />Maybe all this doesn't matter?<br /><br />He is Dead<br />But more has to be done to stop this Madness. <br />Illiteracy and Ignorance killed him.<br />Maybe It could have been Me.<br /><br />Let's Tame this Zoo slowly,<br />before we ourselves become our own prey and predator. <br />Do your tiny little part,<br />For a Great Difference.<br />Teach Peace. <br />Teach Love.<br />This has to end.<br /><br />P L E A S E."</div>
